Simply Psych Nursing

A Professional Corporation

A place where safety, choice, collaboration, transparency and empowerment are key pillars of all treatment plans.

Simply Psych Nursing, A Professional Corporation is a solo private practice lead by myself, Lyleanna Nguyen, PMHNP-BC.

I attended Azusa Pacific University in California and have been treating adults age 18 years old+ for many years. Prior to being a nurse practitioner, I worked in the mental health field, both at inpatient and outpatient facilities and I also have experience being a nurse case manager.

I am ANCC Board Certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and have worked with a variety of mental health disorders which include anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, sleep concerns, adjustment disorders, transitional concerns, and mood disorders.

The human experience can sometimes feel like a series of peaks and valleys. I hope to be of support in these varying moments. My main treatment focus is with psychotropic medication management, though, I strongly believe the combination of medication with the immensely important support of therapy is how we achieve a well-rounded and lasting response.

About Me

What does working with a Nurse practitioner look like?

It can look like a number of ways, though, will commonly consist of a mix between medication management and supportive psychotherapy modalities.

After our first appointment, we will determine what we believe is the best treatment plan to move forward with. Regular follow ups after initiation of medication treatment are important to ensure we are closely and carefully assessing for any side effects as well as benefits of treatment. In the beginning, it is common to have follow ups ranging from 1-4 weeks which can progress to 1-3 months. Treatment response, as well as treatment type, would play a role in determining the frequency of follow ups.

It is my goal to help you regain and maintain functioning so you can be more present in your own life.

Virtual Appointment Types

Comprehensive Initial Assessment

$350

During this appointment, a thorough psychiatric and medical history will be obtained in order to determine your individualized treatment plan. These appointments can last up to 90 minutes.

Medication Follow Up-Short

$180

Short follow up appointments can last up to 25 minutes. We will go over any questions or concerns related to your current prescription and may have limited time to incorporate other modalities such as supportive psychotherapy. If these aspects are important to you, then we may consider the long follow ups intermittently in your treatment plan.

Medication Follow Up- Long

$250

Long follow up appointments can last up to 45 minutes. Prescription questions or concerns will be addressed and we will also spend this time incorporating therapy modalities more in-depth. This option is important for clients who need or want more time and support in this space without feeling rushed by the duration of a short follow up.

Simply Psych Nursing, A Professional Corporation offers telemedicine and virtual appointments so you can prioritize your wellbeing in your busy life.

FAQ

  • Simply Psych Nursing offers psychotropic medication management and supportive psychotherapy through virtual (telehealth, telemedicine) appointments for your absolute convenience.

  • Simply Psych Nursing does not have a clinician that can render neuropsychological testing; however, Simply Psych Nursing is community focused and has resources to help navigate these barriers. Referrals can be made in order to get you to the right clinician(s) to obtain neuropsychological testing. Many clinicians who render these tests do not always treat or have the authority to furnish (prescribe) medication to treat the diagnoses. We would work collaboratively with these specialists to create your individuated treatment plan to target your ADHD concerns.

  • You and your Simply Psych Nursing provider can focus on medication management and opt for the “Medication Management-Short appointments” as your treatment plan. There will always be some level, even if minor, of psychoeducation and / or supportive psychotherapy, though, this can be less of the focus.

  • At Simply Psych Nursing, we work hard to take a collaborative approach and engage in shared decision-making. If you disagree with the treatment plan, please let your provider know so a proper resolution may be worked on.

  • Simply Psych Nursing does not currently accept insurance because we want to maintain the autonomy we have with our clients and to be able to determine how we spend our treatment time together without the overshadowing restraints that may occur when having to abide by insurance policies.
